How wire rope is built
NORVEX works through selected manufacturing partners. The stages below describe the typical industrial production route used for steel wire rope; the exact process varies by construction, finish and application.
01 — Raw material & wire preparation
Steel chemistry, incoming rod condition and target mechanical properties are matched to the intended rope specification.
02 — Wire drawing
Wire is progressively reduced through drawing dies to achieve required diameter and mechanical properties.
03 — Surface treatment
Depending on the product, wires may be bright, zinc coated or otherwise protected before stranding.
04 — Stranding
Individual wires are laid into strand designs such as Seale, Warrington, Filler or Warrington-Seale.
05 — Core preparation
FC, WSC or IWRC cores are selected according to flexibility, support, crush resistance and application needs.
06 — Rope closing
Strands are helically closed around the core under controlled geometry to form the finished rope.
07 — Lubrication & stabilization
Lubrication and finishing steps are applied as specified to support corrosion protection and service performance.
08 — Inspection, testing & reel packing
Diameter, lay, length, surface, identification and order-specific mechanical tests are checked before packing.
